Busy busy busy Boys

Hello Everybody,

Finally our next installment! We have been very busy since our Birthday party. Grandpa Trevor was over from England to come and see the boys. Have attended some birthday parties, gone to the zoo, had a picnic at Emmerentia, slept over at Robs and Keith, visited Granny Cynthia in Alberton, out and about having fun! We are growing everyday, James has taken his first steps. Thomas is also doing well. We also were privileged to ride on the Gautrain with Uncle Monkey, check out the pics.

July is party month

July marks the twins birthday. It is incredibly hard to believe that the boys are already a year old. It has been a hectic month. Firstly Thomas's neighbor for many days in hospital, Doug, had his birthday; and then it was the boy's turn. Linda even came up from Pinetown for the party. The biggest surprise, at least for me, was that my cousin, their aunty Xaan flew in from Cape Town.

Everyone had a wonderful time, and the pictures hardly do justice to the event. Thanks to everyone who made their first birthday so special.

Our first Rock Concert

We traveled off to watch some great South African bands at the MK Vredefest at Emmerentia; and just had to post some photo's quickly. Thomas is doing very well, and continues to improve daily. He does need to do some more time on his tummy. Crawling is the next step (so to speak)!

Enjoy the quick photo update everyone.

And onwards, past the 10 months of life

It's been an eventual month. Started well enough, but after going to the doc to check our weight (near the 7kg mark) and get another jab; Thomas ended up in hospital for a few days. Still, all is now much better.

Thomas is attending physio twice a week and the improvement is incredible! Mr T is now eating well, and using his right hand much better than before.

Anyway, the weeks have flown by, and apart from this horrible flu or cold or whatever, we're growing up beautifully. But don't take our word for it - check out the photos.

Special thanks to our voyaging godparents for the lovely silk pj's.

April is nearly over

We had the great pleasure of joining Linda, Clive, Robyn, Keith and (briefly) Adam in Pinetown for Easter. It was fantastic. To keep the boys in some sort of routine we traveled at night, which was difficult for the adults, but meant that the boys stayed in routine, and slept through the next night.

It was also the first chance the boys had had to see the sea. And they loved the beach. Literally. That beach sand was some of the nicest stuff they had tasted, James and Thomas were literally shoveling it in.

Also, after getting back, Great Aunty Kate came around to visit.

Anyway because of the huge amount of fun, activity and general growing up over Easter, we had to post some pics to keep you all in the loop.

We're 8 months today

Things are really moving quickly now. Everyday, there are massive changes, and each day it gets better and better. Just as an example, Friday was a hellish day at work; and Claudia gave me a call. When I answered all I heard was the joyous chuckling of James in the background. There are few noises sweeter.

Plus, the twins are sort-of sleeping through. We generally have uninterrupted sleep from around 10.30 till 5.30; and it is truly wonderful.

I know everyone is very keen to see the boys and their growth; so without further ado:

And so 6 months later

Well well, we have finally made the half year. Things are getting much better. Solids are now part of our diet and we're thriving. Thomas in particular is loving it.

As for the parents, we're doing pretty well too. Admittedly, the song "Michael Finnigan" is now permanently stuck in our heads. But that's a minor price to pay. Claudia mentioned earlier that being parent does strange things. A young man who used to have Metallica in his head now sings nursery rhymes. That's a little sad ...

Just to let people catch up - here are a few pics. Cheers ...
